I. OH MAN. NEW FANDOM? I THINK SO. PLEASE TO BE SEEING NEW LAYOUT.

Sherlock Holmes )

Otherwise, we saw some pretty epic trailers!

Clash of the Titans: WHOOOOOO. NEXT YEAR WILL BE THE YEAR OF GREEK MYTHOLOGY. This looks pretty epic and I'm definitely excited to see Liam Neeson as Zeus. My mom really wants me to see the original and I probably will one day but for now, this looks awesome and definitely like a good adventure film. Plus I am all over any Greek mythology.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice: You know, I actually love what they're doing with this film. As of late, Nic Cage's films haven't really been up to snuff (though I still really want to see Bad Lieutenant) and I'm hoping this will help boost his career. I think it looks awesome and I'm excited to see it.

So much to watch! Therefore, my goal for the last week of winter break is as follows: senior project, English homework (easy to finish), and catch up with viewing stuff (films, Hamlet, Merlin, Who).

II. MY BLU-RAY PLAYER WORKS. The day I bought Inglourious Basterds on Blu-Ray, the player stopped working. We had to call the people three times (over the course of last night and this morning) and all three people gave us the same directions and the last guy finally succeeded in giving us something slightly different that made it work. Also, apparently a chord wasn't plugged in all the way. XD BUT NOW IT'S WORKING AND WORKING BETTER THAN BEFORE YAY! So we're going to watch that film tonight and I'm pumped because I love that film.

Catch you later, calculators.

CHALLENGE 14 END OF THE DECADE
Best Disney Films of the Decade

[info]picspammy's fourteenth challenge is to picspam something dealing with the first decade of the twenty-first century seeing as it's quickly coming to an end. I decided to picspam the best Disney films since 2000. Disney is such an important part of my life and has definitely made an impact on me that will never leave me. No matter how old I get, my heart will always belong to Disney. While nothing will ever be able to compare to their classics, these past ten years have given us some wonderfully memorable and amazing Disney films.

SO MANY FILMS TO SEE. Sis and I are going to see Avatar on Thursday and I am so pumped! But there are so many films I need to see and so many that weren't even released near me which means I've missed so many as well. MUST REMEDY ALL THIS SOMEHOW.

II. CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER AHOY!

Conan O'Brien came into the Library today while I was volunteering and I got to speak with him a little bit. He was nice though very quiet. And he's really tall - he completely towered over me! His kids were adorable if a little all over the place. We had to tell them not to take the toys from the Toys for Tots bin. xD But it was totally awesome.

I was going to get my hair done today but the place closed at 4 and I got there at 3:45. I thought it would have closed at 6 or something. Oh well. I plan on going tomorrow morning so expect pictures again!

Catch you later, calculators.

I haven’t been reading many print comix lately. Been busy drawing my own comix, working my day job, and doing christmas things. I’m also in the process of moving into a new home so things are a bit hectic. But what I have been reading is plenty of online comix. One of those comix is Conan the Cimmerian: Trophy by Timothy and Ben Truman and Marian Churchland. Which is kinda like 1,001 Arabian Nights except it’s done in 1 night in a bar in the middle of the desert and involves more alcohol, and more violence. It’s a pretty great story. I’m not very up to date in the whole CONAN universe, I’ve only just recently saw the 1st movie. But after reading this story I really want to read more CONAN and hope Marian Churchland and Ben Truman will do another CONAN comix together. Maybe a whole GN.

Another comix is one I just found today and it blew my mind. I only read the first issue because reading just 1 issue has enough in it to keep you busy for a while digesting all the information given to you. It’s a comix call NAWLZ. NAWLZ is an interactive cyberpunk webcomix and so far just reading the first issue it goes into some deep and interesting ideas and I can’t wait to read more. The art is amazing and the whole layout of every page is just stellar out there concepts. READ THIS!

What I did get to read in print was some more CYBER 7 which I ordered a while back. I made a HUGE order, though unfortunately I ended up losing some of my comix due to an accident involving me spilling an ink pot onto them. It wasn’t pretty. The comix are pretty much all damaged but they’re mostly all readable. Only 2 weren’t any good and they were the top 2 which I’d already read so I didn’t really care.

Anways, I’ve read up to the 2nd volume of Cyber 7 now and it’s getting pretty interesting as they’ve gone to a different dimension, the Rockland world and it looks as though they’re going to be rescuing this dimensions from the evil ruler of the Crystal World. It’s pretty interesting in a sci-fi fantasy kind of story. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have been printed past volume 2 so I’ll have to find the rest online.

Now for some of my art. I’ve been fairly busy lately. I did a cover for a friend’s book call Captain Space Bastard and Other Stories. I’m gonna go and talk more about that later but I was really happy with how this cover came out. It was inspired by a retro look, but I haven’t been able to pin point any exact inspiration. I know it’s from something but I can’t figure out what.

I also did a comix this weekend based off of a conversation between me and my friend Robin LeBlanc had in the Whitechapel mIRC room. It was so interesting I just had to do something with it and this is what I came up with. It came out a bit like a french film I think. But I think it just adds something to it really.
